Hello everyone in Jayhawkland!

The start of the school year is right around the corner and the smell of preseason is lurking like my momma’s gumbo…. I can’t forget the sound of Hudy pushing student-athletes into Championship shape! Im so excited about my opportunity to be a part of the KU family!

Summer recruiting is winding down, the start of a new college basketball season is coming up and my WNBA team is the #1 team in the league going into our Olympic hiatus. We only have a few more games after the Olympic games and we hope to be heading into the playoffs #1 in the Eastern Conference.

My life is a whirlwind right now, but full of excitement! Trying to balance playing professional basketball and starting a new job at KU has been an easy transition in my life. Bonnie and her staff have been proactive in getting me involved in recruiting, supportiive of all my games and flexible with my hectic schedule. They have been great and I appreciate everyone in that office for going the extra mile in making me feel so comfortable.

With all that said….my life is not very TYPICAL. The last five days of my life are as follows:

July 26- 11 a.m.–flight from Connecticut to Washington DC
4:15 p.m.–practice at MCI center
7 p.m.–dinner with friends
July 27- 9 a.m.–treatment
10 a.m.–breakfast and film breakdown with my team
4 p.m.–beat the washington mystics
9 p.m.–flight back to Connecticut
July 28- start of the Olympic Break
6:30 a.m.–flight to dallas to spend time with my husband, Ben
July 29- 11 a.m.–workout
3 p.m.–lunch with Ben
8:15 p.m.–flight out to recruit
July 30- all day recruiting for the Jayhawks
lLate dinner with my parents and other family members
July 31- 7 a.m.–flight back to Dallas to spend the rest of the week with my wonderful husband Ben

…….and thats my life! LOL

Although my life is not typical, it is highly enjoyable. The student-athletes, Kansas coaching staff and Connecticut Sun franchise are all made up of wonderful people who enjoy giving of themselves to reach a common goal. So although my life is not typical, it is a blessing and is fulfilling everyday.

But for now….I’ve gotta go….I’m sure I have something to do:-) LOL
