KU's Potee Advances In TRANS National Golf Amateur

SHERIDAN, Wyo. – After finishing 10th in the two-rounds of stroke-play qualifying, University of Kansas women’s golfer Meghan Potee won her first-round of match play at the 81st Women’s TRANS National Amateur Championship.

The Jayhawk sophomore-to-be defeated Melissa Martin of Grand Junction, Colo., 1 up in their opening-round match.

Potee will play Shu-Yin Liu of Tualatin, Ore. Friday morning with the winner advancing to the round of 16, scheduled for Friday afternoon.

Potee played in 10 events as a freshman at KU this past year. At the end of June, Potee claimed the Indiana Women’s Golf Open, edging a pair of professionals by two shots in the two-round tournament.
