STUDENT-ATHLETES: SIXTH YEAR AID FUND

Although grants-in-aid do not include financial aid once eligibility expires, Kansas Athletics strives to provide funds, as available, for former student-athletes to complete their undergraduate degree requirements.

Per NCAA regulations, former student-athlete would have to provide community service for the department during the time when Kansas Athletics provides financial assistance.

This fund is established to assist former Jayhawk student-athletes to receiving their undergraduate degree. Kansas Athletics will not provide financial aid for any graduate work.

Procedure

Former student-athletes must formally apply in writing to the Associate Athletic Director/Student Support Services and include the rational for receiving additional financial support and how many credit hours are required for graduation.

Financial Information

Sixth-year financial aid will cover tuition, books and fees. Room and board costs are not included.

Approval Criteria

Associate Athletics Director/Student Support Services along with Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator will review application and if endorsed, will present to Athletics Director for final decision. Evaluation of requests will include but is not limited to the following criteria:

Availability of necessary classes;Grades achieved in previous course work;Course completion requirements necessary for graduation.

Director of Athletics will have final approval on all recommendations.
