KU Football Players To Report Thursday

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Kansas head football coach Mark Mangino and his staff will welcome 105 players when the Jayhawks report for the start of fall camp on Thursday. The players will check into housing, complete physicals, get necessary equipment and do paperwork.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

The team will hold its first practice on Friday. An open practice for the public will be held on the grass practice fields west of the baseball stadium on Sunday at 9 a.m. KU will host another practice open to the public on Monday, August 13 at 4:45 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Jayhawks will meet with the media at its annual Media Day. A Fan Appreciation Day will be held on Wednesday, August 22 with details to come later.

Among the players slated to report Thursday are 33 returning lettermen, including 16 starters from last year’s 6-6 team. Three Jayhawks were selected to the preseason All-Big 12 Football Team by a panel of league media recently. That group includes offensive tackle Anthony Collins, defensive tackle James McClinton and cornerback Aqib Talib.

Season and single-game tickets are on sale at the KU Athletics Ticket Office. Tickets may be purchased in person at the Allen Fieldhouse Ticket Office, by phone at (800) 34-HAWKS or online at www.KUAthletics.com.

Flex Packs offer Jayhawk fans the opportunity to purchase tickets to three home games that fit their schedule. Fans can select one non-conference game, Central Michigan (Sept. 1), Southeastern Louisiana (Sept. 8), Toledo (Sept. 15), or Florida International (Sept. 22) and two Big 12 Conference games, Baylor (Oct. 13), Nebraska (Nov. 3), or Iowa State (Nov. 17)), and get the best available seats for those games. This package costs just $129 each and excludes the Missouri game at Arrowhead Stadium.

Single game tickets are also available for purchase. The price of tickets for games against Central Michigan, Southeastern Louisiana, Toledo and Florida International are $35 each. All four games begin at 6 p.m. in Memorial Stadium. Tickets for conference games against Baylor and IowaState are priced at $45 each. The Nebraska game is priced at $75. Tickets for the Missouri game in Arrowhead Stadium on Nov. 24 range from $30-$65.

Fans can also purchase group tickets to Jayhawk home games. Groups of 25 or more will receive $10 off the price of a single game ticket. At this time, group tickets are not available for the Nebraska game.

For the first time in school history, the Jayhawks will play eight home games, which includes one vs. Missouri in Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium. Public season tickets are $275. Faculty-staff season tickets are $220 and recent graduate packages (2005-07 graduation date) are $200. Family-Zone season packages are also available for just $350. The Family-Zone, located in the North Bowl, includes two adult and two youth general admission tickets.

All season-ticket packages include the Border Showdown game against Missouri at Arrowhead Stadium. KU and MU will split the seats at Arrowhead. KU season-ticket holders will receive first priority for KU’s seats.
