Former Jayhawk Runner Has Summer Success

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Former KU Jayhawk Jeremy Mims is enjoying many victories on the European summer meet circuit after a stellar career at Kansas. In six meets since July, Mims has already posted three first place finishes in the 800 meter run. Those meets also include a third place finish in Padova, Italy (1:47.36) on July 3, a second place finish in Salamanca, Spain (1:46.60) on July 6, and a fourth place finish in London, England (1:46.32) at the Norwich Union British Grand Prix on July 22.

His first victory came in Italy at the Sport Solidarietà International Meeting on July 17. Mims posted a time of 1:46.02. His second win of the summer came a week later at the Atletiek Vlaanderen in Belgium on July 24, where Mims ran a time of 1:46.99. His most recent success came three days later on July 27 at the Reunión Internacional de Atletismo in Soria, Spain, where Mims ran a time of 1:48.3.
