KU Quarterback Club Taking Registrations

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Registration has begun for those interested in joining the 2007 KU Quarterback Club. The club meets nine times per year and members receive a 2007 football media guide, new recruits press release, 2008 Spring prospectus, QB Club hat or visor, and are eligible for prize drawings at the meetings.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

The club will hold its preseason kickoff meeting on Thursday, August 30 from 5-7:30 p.m. at Paddy O’Quigley’s in the Holiday Inn Holidome (<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>200 McDonald Drive). The evening will feature complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a presentation of 2006 Kansas football highlights, Coach Mark Mangino’s radio show, and a talk from former KU standout Willie Pless.

In-season meetings will take place at Zig and Mac’s on the corner of Bob Billings and Wakarusa from 5:30-7 p.m. on five Monday nights during the season — Sept. 10, Oct. 1, Oct. 15, Nov. 5 and Nov. 19.

The in-season meetings will include game highlights, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverage, guest speakers, and a “chalk talk” from former KU assistant football coach Pat Henderson.

A postseason meeting will be held in December and will include remarks from Mangino as well as a 2007 highlight film. The club will also host a recruiting party in February with the Kansas assistant coaches and will feature highlights of the 2008 recruiting class.
