Barbee, Storm Bow Out in Quarterfinals at Kansas Amateur

MISSION HILLS, Kan. –

Nate Barbee and Andrew Storm’s quest to win the 2009 Kansas Amateur ended when both players fell in the quarterfinal round Saturday morning at Kansas City Country Club.

Barbee fell to Scott Willman by a score of 2&1, while Storm dropped his quarterfinal match to Joe Ida 4&2.

Seven Jayhawks qualified for the match play portion of the event and Storm and Barbee managed to survive the longest of all participating Jayhawks.

Matt Ewald, a recent graduate of Washburn, won the 99th Kansas Amateur by defeating former Stanford standout Dodge Kemmer 7&5 in the 36-hole final.
