Kansas Football Featured on The Sporting News Web Site

The Kansas football team is featured in a pair of articles on The Sporting News’ web site Wednesday, being ranked No. 31 in the publication’s preseason national rankings, while there is also a sidebar about the team’s change in offensive philosophy.

With the No. 31 ranking, the Jayhawks are projected as the fifth-highest ranked team in the Big 12. The Jayhawks are ranked behind Nebraska (No. 7), Texas (No. 9), Oklahoma (No. 10) and Texas A&M (No. 30). Other Big 12 teams in The Sporting News’ Top 100 include Missouri (No. 33), Texas Tech (No. 36), Baylor (No. 60), Oklahoma State (No. 64), Colorado (No. 74), Iowa State (No. 82) and Kansas State (No. 85).

Kansas players reported to campus Tuesday, and will have their first official practice of the fall on Wednesday afternoon. KU will open the 2010 season on Saturday, Sept. 4 against North Dakota State at 6 p.m.
