Kansas Swimmers Complete Day Three of 2010 National Championships

IRVINE, Calif. –

Former Kansas swimmer Danielle Herrmann and current swimmers Brooke Brull, Shannon Garlie and Joy Bunting took 11th in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay on the third day of the 2010 ConocoPhillips National Championships in Irvine, Calif. The team, representing Kansas Aquatics, recorded a time of 8:26.43 and earned 12 points.

Herrmann, Kansas’ new volunteer assistant swimming coach, also placed 59th in the 100-meter breaststroke with a personal-best time of 1:12.99.

Kansas junior Stephanie Payne recorded a 65th-place finish for the Wichita Swim Club in the 400-meter IM with a time of 4:59.53. Bunting competed in the same event, taking 82nd place with a personal-best time of 5:02.21.

“Our 800 freestyle relay was a great finish to the day,” Kansas head coach Clark Campbell said. “Danielle, Brooke, Shannon and Joy swam a very good race. We’re thrilled with their finish and with putting points on the board.”
