Lawrence, Kan. – More than 700 Kansas football fans flocked to the Jayhawk practice fields Sunday afternoon to watch the team practice and participate in KU’s annual Gatorade Kids’ Day.

At 5:30 p.m. gates to KU’s practice facility were opened and children were invited to participate in drills and stretching exercises during the final 30 minutes of practice. At the conclusion of practice, members of the KU football team signed autographs and posed for pictures with the children.

“Today was fun,” said seven-year old Bo Weast from Lawrence. “I raced Charles Gordon across the field and played catch with Brian Luke.”

The Jayhawks open the regular-season Sept. 3 when the team hosts Florida Atlantic at 6 p.m.
