LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Former Kansas second baseman Robby Price is featured in the Saturday edition of the Lawrence Journal World;, while former Kansas pitcher Shaeffer Hall was highlighted in The Yankee U blog.

Price, the youngest son of Kansas head coach Ritch Price, has been playing for the Hudson Valley Renegades in the short-season Class A New York-Penn League, after being drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in June of this year. The Lawrence, Kan., native has enjoyed a solid debut season in pro ball, batting .310 with 14 doubles, two homers and 10 stolen bases in his first 37 games this year. The story looks at his chances of making the big club and a snapshot of what minor league baseball is like for a rookie.

Hall, a left-handed pitcher who played at KU from 2008-09, has been with the Tampa Yankees – the team’s High Class A affiliate – since the early part of this season. He was selected by the Yankees in the 25th round in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft. This year has been a break-out year for him as well, as he has posted a 9-1 record with a 2.42 ERA in nine starts this season. His story in The Yankee U also discusses his successful year and pro potential.
