Kansas Rowing Releases 2011-12 Schedule

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas head coach Rob Catloth announced the fall and spring rowing schedule for the upcoming 2011-12 season. The Jayhawks will only have one home meet this season and for the second season in a row it will be held at Wyandotte County Lake in Kansas City, Kan., due to the ongoing road construction on I-70.

The fall schedule features two regattas. Kansas begins its season in Oklahoma City, Okla., at the Head of the Oklahoma Oct. 1-2. The final tune-up before the spring season is Nov. 5-6 when the Jayhawks travel to Chattanooga, Tenn., for the Head of the Hooch.

After the winter break, Kansas returns to the water for the Oklahoma Invite in Oklahoma City, Okla., March 9-11. The following weekend KU heads to Oak Ridge, Tenn., for the Louisville Invite.

The Jayhawks take on Kansas State on April 7 in the Kansas Cup at Wyandotte County Lake in the lone dual of the spring season. Catloth and the Jayhawks then finish the regular season at the Knecht Cup in Camden, N.J., April 14-15.

For the second consecutive year the Jayhawks will take part in the Big 12 and Conference USA championships. The Big 12 Championship will take place in Oklahoma City, Okla. on April 28. Following the Big 12 Championship, the Jayhawks head back to Oak Ridge, Tenn., for the Conference USA Championship on May 12.

Kansas still has an open date on March 24, for which an opponent will be announced in the coming weeks.
