Wilson completes final round at The Collegiate Players Tour Championship

Euless, Texas – Jayhawks’ golfer, Sydney Wilson finished eleventh in the Collegiate Players Tour Championship at Texas Star Golf Course in Euless, Texas today. The Lawrence, Kan. native fired a third-round 80 and a three-round total of 233.

Starting its fourteenth year, the Collegiate Players Tour Championship is designed to provide summer golf competition for college aged men and women. Today’s round will end the three-day championship event and complete the 11-week tour, which began in early June.

With a 5,922 yardage and 71 par at the Texas Star, Wilson headed into the third and final day of competition in sixth place after carding a 78-75 in the first two rounds of play. The Kansas redshirt freshman’s performance caps off an impressive summer after she placed fifth at the 85th Kansas Women’s Amateur Golf Championship in Wichita this July.

Wilson and fellow redshirt freshman Jayhawk, Alyssa Rainbolt, will represent Kansas in the Four-State Championship, scheduled to take place August 15-16 in Arkansas.
