Allen Fieldhouse Receives Makeover

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

James Naismith Court in Allen Fieldhouse is currently undergoing a facelift before the 2011-12 season begins. The court is home to men’s and women’s basketball games for the University of Kansas.

Usually every offseason the court undergoes refinishing, but this year the floor is completely being resurfaced. Workers from Acme Floor Co. out of Lenexa, Kan., stripped it all the way down to the wood and have recently begun repainting the floor.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the first week of September. The floor was last completely resurfaced in 2005.
