KU Football To Hold Fan Appreciation Day On Wednesday, August 20

Kansas football will host its annual Fan Appreciation Day at Kivisto Field at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, August 20 at 5:30 p.m. Fans will be admitted to the stadium to watch the conclusion of the team’s practice.Selected players will also be available to sign autographs after the workout.

Fans can also check out the revitalized Campanile Hill and the new location of the Kansas Football Family Fun Zone. Located just South of the new Anderson Family Football Complex, the Fun Zone will include interactive inflatable games and promotional giveaways. The Fun Zone will open at 5 p.m. for Fan Appreciation Day and two hours prior to each home game.

The west side ticket office at Memorial Stadium will also be open during the event for those wishing to purchase 2008 season or single-game tickets. Kansas opens the season hosting Florida International on August 30 at 6 p.m. Reserved season tickets are $300, faculty-staff tickets are $240, and recent graduate packages are $240 (graduated between 2006-08). The Family Plan is sold out for the 2008 season.

Fans are asked to park and enter on the west side of Memorial Stadium. The KU Store and concession stands on the west concourse will be open during the event. While supplies last, fans may pick up free Kansas Football promotional items including posters, schedule cards, and t-shirts.

Parking is free in all lots adjacent to Memorial Stadium after 5 p.m. On the West side, Lot #’s 50, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, and 65 will be available for parking. On the East side, Lot #94 will be open for parking and fans will be asked to walk to the west side for entrance into Memorial Stadium.
