KU Football To Hold Fan Appreciation Day August 22
Aug. 15, 2007
Kansas football will host its annual Fan Appreciation Day at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, August 22 at 5:30 p.m.
Fans will be admitted to the stadium at 5:30 p.m. to watch the conclusion of the team’s practice. Head Coach Mark Mangino and team members will then address the crowd. Following the workout, all children will be invited onto Kivisto Field to participate in drills and stretching exercises. At the conclusion of practice, Jayhawk fans have the opportunity to take photos and get autographs from KU players and coaches on the field.
While supplies last, fans may pick up free mini Jayhawk schedule footballs, posters, schedule cards, and other KU promotional items.
The west side ticket office at Memorial Stadium will also be open during the event for those wishing to purchase 2007 season or single-game tickets. Kansas opens the season hosting Central Michigan on Sept. 1 at 6 p.m. Reserved season tickets are $275, faculty-staff tickets are $220, recent graduate packages are $200 (graduated between 2005-07), and a Family Plan, which includes two adult and two youth tickets, is $350.
Fans are asked to park and enter on the west side of Memorial Stadium. The KU Store and concession stands on the west concourse will be open during the event.
Parking is free in all lots adjacent to Memorial Stadium after 5 p.m. On the West side, Lot #’s 50, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, and 65 will be available for parking. On the East side, Lot #94 will be open for parking and fans will be asked to walk to the west side for entrance into Memorial Stadium.
Former Kansas broadcaster Max Falkenstien will be on hand at KU’s Fan Appreciation Day to sign his book “A Good Place to Stop.”
