LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas safety Darrell Stuckey added to his list of preseason award watch lists when the Bronko Nagurski Award Watch List was announced on Tuesday.

The award is presented to the nation’s top defensive player by the Football Writers Association of America and the Charlotte Touchdown Club since 1993. Former Jayhawk Aqib Talib was one of three finalists for the award in 2007.

Stuckey is on preseason watch lists for the Bednarik Award (top defender), Thorpe Award (top defensive back) and the Lott Award (top defensive player on and off the field). He is also a nominee for the AFCA Good Works Team, which recognizes off the field contributions.

The senior from Kansas City, Kan. was an All-Big 12 First Team selection last year after recording 98 tackles and five interceptions. His 98 tackles were second on the team, as well as the most by a Jayhawk defensive back since 2003.
