Football Team to Hold Fan Appreciation Night

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The University of Kansas football team will host its annual Fan Appreciation Night on Wed., Aug. 24 at Memorial Stadium. Fans will be allowed into the stadium at 5:30 p.m. to watch the conclusion of the team’s practice before head coach Mark Mangino addresses the crowd. Following the practice, fans have the opportunity to take photos and get autographs from KU players and coaches.

While supplies last, fans may pick up free 2005 Jayhawk Football schedule T-shirts, yard signs, posters, schedule cards, window clings, Rock Chalk Chalk and Coca-Cola Schedule cups. In addition, the KU marching band and the spirit squad will be performing at the event.

Parking for Fan Appreciation Night is free in all lots adjacent to Memorial Stadium after 5 p.m. Please note that all fans will be asked to enter the stadium on the west side only.

The west side ticket office at Memorial Stadium will be open during the event for those fans wishing to purchase 2005 sason tickets. Kansas opens the season Sept. 3 in Memorial Stadium against Florida Atlantic. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets to that game by calling 800-34-HAWKS or on the internet at www.kuathletics.com.
