Aug. 24, 2004

Lawrence, Kan. – University of Kansas offensive lineman Joe Vaughn was recently selected to the Sporting News Magazine’s 2004 All-Spring Team. Vaughn, a senior-to-be from Del City, Okla., was listed as one of the top five offensive lineman in the country after an impressive showing during KU’s spring practice sessions.

Vaughn was one of just three Big 12 players selected to the 22-man All-Spring Team which featured 11 players on both offense and defense. Last season, he was named the Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year after helping the Jayhawks to their first postseason bowl game since 1995. His outstanding season helped the KU quarterbacks set school records in passing touchdowns (25) and pass completions (255).

Prior to his arrival at KU, Vaughn was an NJCAA All-American at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. (4/27/04)
