Football Team To Host Fan Appreciation Night

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas football team will host its annual Fan Appreciation Night on Wed., Aug. 25 at Memorial Stadium. Fans will be allowed into the stadium at 5:30 p.m. to watch the conclusion of the team’s practice before head coach Mark Mangino addresses the crowd and introduces the 2004 team captains. Following the presentations, fans will have the opportunity to take photos and get autographs from KU players and coaches.

The first 1,000 KU fans at the event will receive special t-shirts and schedule cups to commemorate the evening. Other giveaways include 2004 football posters, schedule cards and key chains.

Parking for Fan Appreciation Night is free in all lots adjacent to Memorial Stadium after 5 p.m. Please note that all fans will be asked to enter the stadium on the west side only.

Kansas opens its season on Sept. 4 in Memorial Stadium against the University of Tulsa. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets to the game by calling 800-34-HAWKS or on the internet at www.kuathletics.com. (8/19/04)
