Women's Golf Finish Eighth At Big 12

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The University of Kansas women’s golf team finished eighth place, in a 12-team field, after round three was cancelled due to weather at the Big 12 Championships in College Station, Texas. The Jayhawks shot a two-round score of 617 at the 6,242-yard par 72 Pebble Creek Country Club.

Texas won the tournament with a final score of 592. Host-school Texas A&M placed second with 599. Oklahoma State shot 606 to place third. Oklahoma finished fourth with 607, and Baylor shot 608 to finish in fifth place.

Freshman Amanda Costner led the Jayhawks tied for seventh place after shooting a total of 148. Costner was named to the all-tournament team. Sophomore Chelsey Pryor tied for 16th place after shooting 152. Sophomore Tiffany Woods shot 158 and tied for 41st place. Senior Jennifer Bawanan tied for 51st place with a final score of 163. Freshman Jill Womble finished in 57th place after shooting 168.
