KU Recognized by ITA for Academics

SKILLMAN, N.J. – Kansas women’s tennis was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for its academics this month, as KU was named an ITA All-Academic team and four players garnered Scholar Athlete accolades.

The ITA’s All-Academic award is awarded to teams with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or above. Individually, Scholar Athletes are varsity letterwinners that have completed at least two semesters of school and earned a 3.50 or better.

Junior Erin Wilbert, sophomores Victoria Khanevskaya and Sara Lazarevic as well as former player Alie Dzuba were all named ITA Scholar Athletes for the 2009-2010 season.

KU has previously been named an ITA All-Academic team in 2006, 2005 and 2002, with individuals earning Scholar Athlete awards in 2006 and 2005.
