Washington Inducted Into Women's Hall Of Fame

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Former University of Kansas women’s basketball coach Marian E. Washington was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Washington was one of six inductees enshrined in the class of 2004. Joining Washington was Sylvia Hatchell, Lurlyne Greer Rogers, Amy Ruley, Bev Smith and William L. Wall.

Washington, who guided the Jayhawks for the past 31 years, retired from coaching this past season. Under her guidance, the Jayhawks compiled a 560-363 record and made 11 NCAA appearances.
