Lino, Uhart Earn All-Tournament Honors

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Kansas’ Flavia Lino and Natalie Uhart were both named all-tournament selections for their efforts in helping the Jayhawks to a second place finish in the Oregon Invitational over the weekend.

Lino appeared in all 10 games of the tournament to tally a team second-best 2.90 kills per game and 2.30 digs per game, while adding six service aces. The sophomore transfer opened the tournament with 13 kills and three service aces in the team’s 3-0 sweep of Cal State-Bakersfield. Lino again posted a team-high 13 kills on a .524 hitting percentage, along with three blocks in a 3-0 win over Idaho State. She then finished out the weekend with three kills and four digs against Oregon in KU’s lone loss.

Uhart proved to be another offensive force for the Jayhawks, averaging 2.30 kills per game in three starts and leading KU with 1.30 blocks per game. The Lansing, Kan., native recorded seven kills, four aces and four blocks Friday against Cal State-Bakersfield and added a .562 hitting percentage (10K-1E-16TA) and four more blocks versus Idaho State. In the tournament’s final match, Uhart contributed six kills and five blocks against Oregon.

Kansas heads to East Lansing, Mich., this weekend for the Spartan Invitational. The Jayhawks open the tournament Friday night against host Michigan State at 5 p.m. (CST) and will face Florida State and Missouri State on Saturday.
