Mattione’s winning design incorporated a view from Campanile Hill toward Memorial Stadium and the 2006 Kansas football theme: “Where will you be on Gameday?” For winning the contest, Mattione, a computer science major, will receive a $500 gift certificate to KUStore.com, a student sports combo ticket package and be recognized on the video board during KU’s football home opener versus Northwestern State.

The 2006 KU football season kicks off Saturday at 6 p.m. at Memorial Stadium, when the Jayhawks host Northwestern State. The Jayhawks will play seven home games in Memorial Stadium in 2006. Public season tickets are $225; faculty/staff season tickets are $180 and recent graduate packages are $150 (2004-06 graduation date). Family-Zone packages are also available for $300. The Family-Zone, located in the North Bowl, includes two adult and two youth general admission tickets.
