Kansas Soccer to Host Free Clinic on Thursday

LAWRENCE, Kan. – University of Kansas soccer coaches and players will hold a free clinic for area kids on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex. Youth in attendance will be able to learn soccer skills from members of the No. 17 Kansas soccer team, then have the opportunity to watch the Jayhawks action over the weekend as they host the 2004 KUStore.come Crimson & Blue Invitational.

During the tournament, a wide variety of promotions are planned for fans who come out and support the Jayhawks. On Friday, the first 500 fans will receive a Jayhawk vanity license plate. On Sunday, spectators can bring their ticket stub from Saturday’s football game against Tulsa for free admission to the Jayhawk Soccer Complex. The first 500 to arrive on Sunday will receive a free soccer schedule magnet courtesy of First National Bank. Also, the entire weekend will be Girls Scouts Weekend. Any scout who wears her uniform will be admitted free.

KU will square off against Wisconsin-Milwaukee at 5 p.m. on Friday and round out the tournament playing St. Louis on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. In addition to the two games the Jayhawks play, St. Louis and Mississippi will square off on Friday at 2:30 p.m., while Mississippi State and Wisconsin-Milwaukee will battle at 12 p.m on Sunday.
