Fans attending KU soccer and volleyball matches this fall will enjoy several giveaways and ticket promotions as well as opportunities to take part in charitable outreach efforts.

Kansas Soccer will open the 2009 home schedule this Friday, September 4, when it hosts Long Beach State at 5 p.m. Fans in attendance will receive a Kansas Soccer schedule poster and will have an opportunity to get autographs following the game.

The Jayhawks have designated September 18 – 20 as Youth Soccer Month weekend. Youth soccer players wearing their team uniform or t-shirt will receive $3 admission to Kansas games versus San Diego on Friday, September 18 at 5 p.m. and on Sunday vs. South Dakota State at 1 p.m.

Kansas will host Kicks for a Cure on Sunday, October 11 vs. Colorado at 1 p.m. As part of the overall Jayhawks for a Cure campaign, donations taken during the game will benefit breast cancer treatment and research at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and the KU Cancer Center. In addition, Kansas Athletics’ new concessions partner, Centerplate, will donate $1 for each hamburger purchased at the game. Fans wearing pink will be admitted for $3.

Kansas Soccer season tickets are available for $15 for youth and $40 for adults. The new Family Zone Package offers fans two adult and two youth general admission season tickets for just $30. Single-game tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth and senior citizens. Single-game group tickets are available for groups of ten or more for just $3 each when ordered in advance. Kansas Volleyball will host the Jayhawk Invitational on September 4 and 5 to open the 2009 home schedule. The Jayhawks will play twice Friday – against Lipscomb at noon and Florida International at 7 p.m. Kansas will close the tournament versus Creighton, Saturday at 1 p.m.

The volleyball team will take part in the Jayhawks for a Cure initiative on Tuesday, October 27 as they host UMKC at 6:30 p.m. Fans wearing pink will be admitted for $3 and donations will be accepted at the door. Centerplate will also donate $1 for each soft drink sold during the game.

Fans will also have an opportunity to support local food pantries on Saturday, November 14 when Kansas hosts Baylor. Fans making a non-perishable food item donation to Just Food at the door will be admitted for $3.
