Olympics….Olympics….Olympics!

From the opening ceremony to Mr.Phelps showing the world how close his DNA is to a fish…the Olympics were a blast.

The World Champion Women’s Basketball team dominated the whole way. It was great to watch the best players in the world represent their countries with pride and dignity. It was also nice to watch three of my great friends: Sue Bird, Katie Smith and Diana Taurasi win another gold medal. My WNBA coach, Mike Thibault, also won his first gold medal and it’s wonderful to have him back.

During the hiatus, we had a lot of practice, we did a bunch of appearances and really got out into the community. I made a few trips down to New York City with my teammate Asjha Jones to chill in the city, my team also spent a few days at an amusement park and I spent lots of time on the phone with my hubby.

We had three games last week. We are now 3-0 out of the break and we have clinched a playoff spot with our win against Atlanta. Starting Friday the 5th of September, we have a game every other day until Saturday the 13th….yes…that’s five games in nine days. We are so ready to get going and finish our season off in a winning fashion.

I was watching TV in the training room today and saw KU football being featured as a team to watch in the Nation…….I screamed to my teammates, Jamie Carey (Texas grad) and Danielle Page (Nebraska grad), that KU is taking over! I would like to send a HUGE Rock Chalk Jayhawk to KU football!! LOL
