Men's Golf Opens Fall Season at the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

The University of Kansas men’s golf team opens the fall season this weekend at the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate in Sugar Grove, Ill. The Jayhawks will compete in a strong 12-team field that includes Big 12 rivals Colorado, Kansas State and Missouri.

Rich Harvest Farms, currently ranked No. 45 according to Golf Digest’s America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses, will also serve as the host of the 2007 NCAA Central Regional. Hosted by Northern Illinois University, the 54-hole event will get under way on Saturday and will conclude on Sunday.

The Jayhawks will be led by senior standout Gary Woodland, who currently ranks No. 23 in the United States among amateurs. Woodland, along with fellow seniors Tyler Docking and Barrett Martens, will help guide the Jayhawks during the 2006-07 season.
