Kansas Improves Win Streak To Three With Sweep Over St. Peter's

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Flavia Lino and Savannah Noyes each notch eight kills to help the Kansas volleyball team defeat its first opponent, St. Peters, on Friday at the Jayhawk Invitational 30-14, 30-16, 30-16. It is KU’s third win in a row and their second consecutive sweep at home as they improved to 5-3 on the season. The Peahens drop to 2-8.

KU hit a season-high .456 for the match with 10 Jayhawks recording at least one kill from a balanced attack.

Kansas’ 30-14 score in the first game was the widest margin of victory on the season for the Jayhawks. In game two, sophomore Flavia Lino led a team attack percentage of .429 with four kills and a hitting percentage of .667. With Kansas leading 21-13, sophomore setter Katie Martincich served five straight points to give the Jayhawks a 25-13 advantage en route to their 30-16 victory.

Kansas will continue its play at the Jayhawk Invitational as it welcomes Wyoming to the Horejsi Family Athletics Center at 7:00 pm. Friday night. Wyoming defeated Morehead State earlier in the day 3-0.
