Metro Sports to Televise Four KU Volleyball Matches from Horejsi Family Athletics Center

Sept. 9, 2011

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Metro Sports has announced plans to televise four Kansas volleyball matches from the Horejsi Family Athletics Center during the 2011 season.

The television schedule begins with KU’s match vs. No. 17 Iowa State Wednesday, Sept. 28, KU’s first home match after its current three-week road trip. If history repeats itself, the first of four matches to be televised sets up to be an exciting one. Last season’s home match with Iowa State resulted in the Jayhawks’ upsetting the top-10 Cyclones.

The next two telecasts are a pair of rivalry matchups – a meeting with in-state rival Kansas State on Wednesday, Oct. 19, and the Border Showdown against Missouri on Wednesday, Nov. 2, another team Kansas defeated on its home floor a year ago.

Metro Sports’ final KU telecast features the Jayhawks against No. 18 Oklahoma on Wednesday, November 16. Kansas ended the 2010 season with a 3-0 victory on the Sooners’ home floor.

Lawrence residents can watch Metro Sports on Knology channel 37, while Time Warner Cable Subsribers can tune into channel 30.

Jayhawk fans outside the Kansas City-Lawrence area can watch every KU home volleyball match live (free of charge) on AT&T Jayhawk All-Access via kuathletics.com. The volleyball matches represent a portion of the more than 200 events KU fans can watch on Jayhawk All Access.
