Kansas In Eighth At the Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The University of Kansas women’s golf team is currently in eighth place – in a 17-team field – following the first round Monday, after rain supended the second round at the Colorado State Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Classic. The Jayhawks total score is 295 after the opening round of play.
The second round is scheduled for completion Tuesday along with the final round.
“I am pleased with the morning,” Kansas head women’s golf coach Erin O’Neil said. “Amanda (Costner) played great, and Annie (Giangrosso) and Emily (Powers) played real steady. This tournament has been a learning experience for the freshmen. They have been doing a good job with everything they had to adjust to. It was just hard to get into a rhythm with all the rain delays. We have to keep grinding, stay positive and hopefully finish it out strong tomorrow.”
Colorado is in first place with a 286 after one round, followed by Baylor with a 290.
Senior Amanda Costner leads the Jayhawks with a one round score of 70 as she is in seventh place, and freshman Emily Powers shot a 73 to tie for 23rd. Junior Annie Giangrosso and freshman Meghan Gockel are both tied for 51st with a score of 73 and 79, respectively, after one round. Freshman Camilla Svensson is in a tie for 70th place with a one round score of 80.
