Women's Golf In Seventh At Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic

Fort Collins, Colo. –

The University of Kansas women’s golf team is currently in seventh place, in an 18-team field, after two rounds of the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic. The Jayhawks shot a 304 in the first round and a 293 in the second at the Ptarmigan Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo.

“We shook some of the rust off in the first round and played much better in the second,” head coach Erin O’Neil said. “We are looking to finish in the top-five tomorrow.”

Baylor is in first place at with a 564, followed by New Mexico who came in with a 582.

Junior Amanda Costner leads the Jayhawks with a two round score of 143 (72 and 71) as she is tied for sixth. Senior Chelsey Pryor shot a two round score of 149 to place in a tie for 25th. Sophomore Annie Giangrosso is in a tie for 32nd after shooting a combined score of 151. Senior Meredith Winkelmann finished in a tie for 47th as she shot an 154. Junior Jill Womble shot a two round total of 169 and is currently in a tie for 84th.

The Jayhawks will begin final round play on Tuesday with tee times set to begin at 9:30 a.m. For live results, visit www.golfstat.com.
