Sept. 12, 2011

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Big 12 Conference has announced its 2011-12 women’s basketball telecast schedule on FOX Sports Net (FSN), with the Kansas women’s basketball team set to appear on the network three times for the second-straight season.

KU will first appear on FSN when it travels to rivals Missouri on Jan. 15 and Kansas State on Feb. 12. The Jayhawks will then host Baylor on the network on Feb. 24 at Allen Fieldhouse.

In addition to KU’s three games, 16 other conference match-ups and the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship, March 7-10, are also included in the package. The postseason tournament quarterfinal games will be televised by FSN for the 11th consecutive year, in addition to the semifinals and final which have been aired by the network every year since the inception of the Conference in 1996-97.

Kansas will open the 2011-12 season with a home game versus Western Michigan on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. The Jayhawks return seven letterwinners, including four starters, from last year’s team, which finished 21-13 overall.
