Women's Golf Finishes In Sixth, Costner Third At Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colo. –

The University of Kansas women’s golf team finished in sixth place, in an 18-team field, after three rounds of the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic. The Jayhawks shot a 297 in the final round at the Ptarmigan Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo.

“I am very happy with the way we battled back today,” head coach Erin O’Neil said. “Amanda (Costner) went out and played three great rounds of golf and was very steady for us.”

Baylor took home first place at with an 859, followed by New Mexico who finished with a 874.

Junior Amanda Costner led the Jayhawks by finishing in third place with a 212 after firing a 69 on Tuesday. Senior Chelsey Pryor moved up to a tie for 21st with a 224. Senior Meredith Winkelmann finished in a tie for 47th as she shot an 232. Sophomore Annie Giangrosso totaled a 235 for 58th place. Junior Jill Womble shot a three round total of 244 and finished in a tie for 73rd.

The Jayhawks will next be in action on Oct. 3-4 at the Battle at the Lake in Tulsa, Okla.
