KU Women's Basketball Adds Sacramento State to Schedule

Kansas Athletics announced Wednesday the addition of Sacramento State to complete the 2006-07 Kansas women’s basketball schedule. The Jayhawks and Hornets will play at Allen Fieldhouse on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m.
Competing in the Big Sky Conference, Sacramento State returns two starters and six letterwinners from a team that went 9-17 last season under fourth year head coach Dan Muscatell. The game will mark the second meeting between the two schools with Kansas defeating the Hornets, 70-64, in Eugene, Ore., on Nov. 29, 2003.
The Jayhawks open the season with two exhibition games at Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas will face Fort Hays State on Nov. 1 and Washburn on Nov. 5.
Kansas opens the regular season against Seton Hall in the first round of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association/Metro Sports Classic at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., Nov. 11. KU will face either Iowa or Missouri State in its second game of the WBCA Classic the next day.
Of the 29 games on the 2006-07 schedule, 17 are against teams that participated in postseason play last season. All game times are subject to change.
