KU Football Listed 22nd/23rd In National Polls

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Another victory and another move up the national polls for the Kansas football team as the Jayhawks were ranked 22nd by the Associated Press and 23rd by the USA Today/Coaches polls which were released Sunday.

Kansas moved up two spots in the writer’s poll, while improving just one spot in the coaches’ listings after its 34-7 victory at UTEP on Saturday. The victory improved Kansas to 2-0 on the season.

In addition to Kansas, Big 12 Conference teams in the polls include Texas (No. 2 AP and No. 2 USA Today), Oklahoma (12/12), Oklahoma State (16/17), Nebraska (19/18) and Missouri (NR/25). Missouri, Texas Tech and Baylor all received votes in the AP rankings, while Texas Tech received votes in the coaches’ poll.

Kansas has now been ranked in 22 of the last 30 AP polls since early the start of October, 2007.

Kansas returns to action on Saturday hosting Duke in a game televised nationally on Versus beginning at 11 a.m.
