Kansas Soccer to Hold Military Day Sunday

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas athletics is asking fans to donate new or slightly used soccer items at the Kansas soccer match versus No. 10 Florida on Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. Those who donate soccer balls, small hand pumps, cleats, shin guards or uniforms will gain entry to the KU contest for just $3.

All donations will go to Operation Give, an organization that helps the U.S. military deliver items to needy children overseas. The mission of Operation Give is to bring hope and solutions to the deprived and disconnected people of the world, in many cases where the U.S. military operates.

The Jayhawks are 6-2 overall this season and will use Sunday’s game as one last opportunity to prepare for the of opening Big 12 Conference play, which commences at Oklahoma State on Friday, Sept. 23.
