Kansas Women's Golf 13th At Dick McGuire Invitational

The University of Kansas women’s golf team is currently in 13th place, in a 17-team field, after the second round of the 26th Annual Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. The Jayhawks shot a 312 second round score for a two round total of 620.

“I have seen a lot of positive things,” head coach Erin O’Neil said. “We just need to improve on our short game as well as some course management things, but we really aren’t that far off from being one of the better teams here.”

Georgia remains in first place at with a 586, followed by host New Mexico who came in with a 588. BYU rounds out the top three with a two round total of 591.

Junior Tiffany Woods leads the Jayhawks with after a second round 79 as she is tied for 45th. Junior Chelsey Pryor shot her second-straight round of 78 to place her in a tie for 57th. Junior Meredith Winkelmann made the biggest move up the board for the Jayhawks as she shot a second round 75, a career best, to move up for a tie for 61st. Sophomore Amanda Costner shot a second round 81 to place in a tie for 66th along with sophomore Jill Womble who shot an 80.

The Jayhawks will start final round play on Wednesday with tee times set to begin at 9 a.m.
