Jayhawks to Host Fall Ball Tournaments

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

The University of Kansas softball team will open its 2006 Fall season with two home tournaments Sept. 23-24 and Sept. 30 – Oct. 1 at Arrocha Ballpark. A total of six area teams will join the Jayhawks in the two-day tournaments: Butler, Emporia State, Johnson County CC, Missouri Western, Pittsburg State and UMKC. Admission to both events are free.

KU will also join Nebraska, Colorado State and Creighton in the Husker Invitational Oct. 7-8 in Lincoln, Neb. The Jayhawks return 10 letterwinners and six starters in 2007 to a squad that won the Big 12 Postseason Championship, advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second-straight season and finished with a 36-26 record last season.
