Kansas-Sam Houston State Football Sold Out for Saturday

Sept. 17, 2008

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas Athletics announced on Wednesday that Saturday’s home football game against SamHoustonState is sold out.

Already this year Kansas set a single-game attendance record with 52,112 on hand to see the Jayhawks defeat FIU in the season opener. The attendance for that game beat the previous record of 51,910 set against Nebraska in 2007.

In KU’s second home game, 48,621 fans sat in the rain to watch the Jayhawks defeat Louisiana Tech. That total was the second highest attendance mark for a non-conference game in school history.

Already averaging 50,366 in two games, Kansas established school season attendance average marks in each of the three previous seasons, including a record 46,784 in 2007.

Fox College Sports will broadcast the game against SamHoustonState. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. Central time.
