Sept. 17, 2011

LAWRENCE, Kan. – More than 200 people came out to support the Kansas women’s basketball team and the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Breast Center Saturday afternoon during the seventh annual11-w-baskbl-golf-tourney-350x233.jpg Bonnie Henrickson Golf Tournament at Alvamar Golf Club.

The four-person scramble tournament included about 160 golfers who enjoyed a day of golf, food, silent auctions and camaraderie. Proceeds from the auction portion of the event will go to benefit the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Breast Center. Prizes were also given to the best four-women teams, four-men teams and four-person mixed teams, as well as longest drive and closest to the pin.

“This is always a great day to spend with our fans,” said Henrickson, who is beginning her eighth season at Kansas. “It is a great chance for the staff and players to thank all of those who have supported our program. It is also rewarding to be able to give back to the community by raising money for the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Breast Center.”

All members of the 2011-12 KU women’s basketball team and staff were on hand at the event, which also raises money for the team’s international trips like the most recent journey the Jayhawks took to Italy in August 2011.
