LAWRENCE, KAN. –
The Kansas men’s golf team leads after the first round of the Kansas Invitational after shooting a first round total of 287.
The Jayhawks, two-time defending champions of the event, are being chased by fellow Big 12 member Iowa State who stands six strokes back after firing a total of 293. The Cyclones are followed in the top-five by Houston, Nebraska and South Dakota State.
Kansas senior Gary Woodland leads the tournament after round one carding a five-under score of 67. Woodland is joined in the top-five by Jayhawk teammate Tyler Docking who stands in a tie for third after shooting a 70 in round one.
The second-round of play is now underway at Alvamar Golf Club and second-round results will be available later today.
