Illinois State Leads, Kansas Tied For Fifth After First Round Of Marilynn Smith Women's Golf Tournament

Illinois State leads after the first round of the Kansas-hosted Marilynn Smith Sunflower women’s golf invitational. Kansas is tied for fifth in the 16-team event which is being played at Alvamar Public Golf Course in Lawrence.

Emily Powers was the only Jayhawk to break 80 in the morning round as she shot a 77 and is tied for 12th place.

The teams will play another 18 holes Monday afternoon before finishing the tournament with one round on Tuesday.
