LAWRENCE, Kan. –

The #24 University of Kansas volleyball team claimed its 14th straight win at home Saturday night with a 31-29, 30-23, 32-30 win over Baylor. With the win at the Horejsi Family Athletics Center, the Jayhawks improved to 11-2 overall and 3-1 in the Big 12 Conference while the Bears moved to 9-5 and 1-2 in league play.

“We were lucky to get out of here in three [games],” head coach Ray Bechard said. “We really didn’t finish game three, but at the same time the ability to come from behind there is important. We did a great job in the end, Andi Rozum went back and served the ball well and we got a couple of transition points. I thought the best thing about the match probably was game two, where we played really well.”

Junior Jana Correa led KU with 13 kills and added eight digs in the win. Senior Josi Lima, the reigning Sports Imports/AVCA National and Big 12 Player of the Week, contributed 10 kills and nine digs and is just 10 away from breaking the KU all-time career kills record.

Freshman Savannah Noyes tied a career high with nine kills on a team-best .300 attack percentage and senor Paula Caten added eight kills in the win. Junior Jamie Mathewson was solid on defense, leading all players and tying a career-high with 19 digs. The Jayhawk defense totaled a season-high 66 digs on the night. Senior Andi Rozum dished 43 assists for KU and had three solo blocks.

BU was led by Nicole LeBlanc, who had a match-best 14 kills and added eight digs. Three Bears added double-digit digs to the defensive effort.

Game one saw 11 ties and seven lead changes. KU came out of a timeout leading 31-29, and Correa took a set from Emily Brown for a kill to end the game. Leading the entire game, the Jayhawks hit a sizzling .370 in game two and held the Bears to just a .043 hitting efficiency at the net.

After four ties late in game three, Rozum served up an ace to give KU a 31-30 lead and Correa again put away the game and match with a kill, 32-30.
