Kansas Women's Golf to Compete in Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s golf travels to Manhattan, Kan., to compete in the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational on September 26-27. The tournament will be hosted by Kansas State and played at the Colbert Hills Golf Course. An 8:30 a.m. shotgun start will kick off the tournament both days, with 36 holes played Monday and the remaining 18 played Tuesday.

The 12-team field will include Arkansas State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Bradley, Creighton, Indiana State, Kansas State, Missouri State, Oral Roberts, South Dakota State, UMKC and Wichita State.

Kansas hosted the event last year and finished first-place overall, with Grace Thiry leading the team with a first place finish. Katy Nugent took second place and will compete at the event this year along with sophomore Thanuttra Boonraksasat, and freshmen Nadia Luttner, Gabriella DiMarco and Michelle Woods. Junior Audrey Yowell and sophomore Meghan Potee will compete as individuals.

The Jayhawks are coming off a tie for 11th place finish at the Dale McNamara Invitational led by freshman Nadia Luttner who finished tied for 19th.
