KU's Late Night in the Phog Scheduled for Oct. 13, 6:45 p.m. Start

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas men’s and women’s basketball teams will celebrate the beginning of basketball practice at the 22nd annual Late Night in the Phog Friday, Oct. 13, in Allen Fieldhouse.

The 2006 Late Night in the Phog, presented by Peoples Bank, will run from 6:45 p.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m. Admission is free; doors will open at 6 p.m. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

As is tradition at Late Night, fans are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items, which Kansas Athletics will donate to local food pantries.

Children 12 -and -under will not be admitted without an adult, and the Fieldhouse doors will be closed when the arena reaches capacity.

The event will feature music by the KU pep band, video highlights, introductions and scrimmages by the KU men’s and women’s basketball teams, and much more. Upon entry, all fans will receive a set of thunder sticks courtesy of Peoples Bank.

Scion is sponsoring a contest at Late Night in which one lucky KU student will win an all-expense-paid trip for two to Las Vegas Nov. 23-26 to watch the Jayhawks play Ball State and defending national champion Florida. The trip includes round-trip airfare, accommodations at the KU hotel and game tickets.
