LAWRENCE, Kan. –
Kansas head softball coach Megan Smith and the University of Kansas softball team will make their 2010-11 debut when they host Baker University on Wednesday, Sept. 29 in KU’s fall season opener. The contest is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Arrocha Ballpark and is free to the public.

Sophomore outfielder Rosie Hull paced Kansas with a .350 average in 2010 and collected a team-best 55 hits along with fellow sophomore outfielder Alex Jones.
KU also adds eight newcomers to the mix, including infielder Laura Vickers, a National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association All-Region Second Team selection from Olathe, Kan.
