KU-Baylor Football Game May Be Unavailable To Dish Network Subscribers

Oct. 1, 2010

The KU-Baylor game tomorrow (Saturday) at 11 a.m. will air on Fox Sports Net. Fans who receive FSN through Dish Network, however, may need to find an alternate source to view the game.

The Fox Networks’ carriage agreement with Dish Network expired Thursday night, and as of Friday afternoon the two parties have not reached agreement. Dish Network has, as a result, pulled Fox Networks from its lineup and apparently will not reinstate them until the dispute is settled. The dispute could be settled Friday night, but if it isn’t, Fox Sports Net will remain off Dish Network until it is.

“This is a business disagreement between two entities, and unfortunately neither the Big 12 Conference Office nor the University of Kansas has the authority to intervene,” said KU Associate Athletics Director Jim Marchiony. “We hope the two sides resolve the dispute quickly. Fortunately this inconvenience is limited to Dish Network subscribers. KU’s football game at Baylor will be available to fans who receive FSN from other sources, like cable or another satellite provider.”

Fox Sports has set up a telephone number and e-mail address fans can use to weigh in on this issue. The phone number is 877-994-7243; the e-mail address is Midwest@foxsports.net.
