Kansas Leads Texas Tech at Halftime, 27-24

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Sophomore quarterback Jordan Webb went 8-for-11 for 173 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions as Kansas leads Texas Tech 27-24 at the half Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

Webb’s second touchdown toss came with 47 seconds left in the half on a screen pass to senior running back Rell Lewis from 19 yards out to give Kansas the lead. Freshman running back Brandon Bourbon led all rushers with four carries for 65 yards.

KU scored on three of its first four possessions, but Tech answered with 24 points in a eight minute, 19 second span.

KU scored on its opening drive for the first time this season, an 11-yard run by James Sims. After a punt, the Jayhawks took a 13-0 lead on a 51-yard run by Bourbon. The Jayhawks pushed it to 20-0 on a 20-yard catch by a Tim Biere and a fumble recovery by junior Kale Pick in the end zone.
